Mexican imperator

Mexico is home to a number of varied locales of BCI.  All of which can be classified as dwarf boas.  The smallest, the Tarahumara Mt., has been reproduced in captivity from females as small as 38" in length.  In addition to the natural variety of these locales there are many morphs within each.  Leopards, Albinos, and Hypos just to name a few.

Once labeled as an independent subspecies of Boa constrictor, B.c.mexicana, Mexican boas are now classified as part of B.c.imperator.
